Lacey practices primarily in the areas of commercial litigation and business disputes, where she applies a comprehensive and practical view of the litigation process from inception through appeals while remaining dedicated and insightful to the individual needs of her clients.
Lacey grew up on her grandparents’ rural dairy farm in southern Michigan. The routine on the family farm instilled in Lacey not only a hard work ethic but also an understanding of the importance of community. Following law school, Lacey wished to trade the actual snow in Michigan for snow white beaches and Florida sunshine.
Lacey has been an advocate of children and parents in all stages of child welfare proceedings as part of a University of Michigan fellowship and is committed to providing pro bono legal assistance to underprivileged Latin communities in Michigan and Florida. As a clerk for the Honorable Frank A. Shepherd at the Florida Third District Court of Appeal in Miami, Lacey complemented her trial experience with a view of the inner workings of Florida appellate courts. She was the Co-President of the Latino Law Students Association at the University of Michigan and received the Project Communidad Merit Scholarship to acknowledge her commitment to underprivileged clients. As an undergraduate at Western Michigan University, she competed throughout the country as co-captain for the school’s trial team and earned a degree in Public Law with minors in Spanish and Business.
Lacey enjoys softball, traveling, and the outdoors. She was named Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the Detroit Free Press and has studied abroad in Spain.
